The KCNQ5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16134) is a valuable tool for researchers studying KCNQ5, a potassium channel involved in neuronal excitability and regulation of membrane potential. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high specificity for human samples and is suitable for use in Western blot assays. By targeting the KCNQ5 protein, the antibody enables the detection and analysis of this important ion channel in various cell types, making it an ideal choice for neuroscience and cardiovascular research.KCNQ5, also known as Kv7.
5, plays a crucial role in controlling electrical signaling in neurons and cardiac muscle cells. Dysregulation of KCNQ5 has been implicated in conditions such as epilepsy, cardiac arrhythmias, and neuropathic pain. By studying the function and expression of KCNQ5, researchers can gain insights into the mechanisms underlying these disorders and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets for their treatment. The KCNQ5 Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for advancing our understanding of the role of KCNQ5 in health and disease.

This gene is a member of the KCNQ potassium channel gene family that is differentially expressed in subregions of the brain and in skeletal muscle. The protein encoded by this gene yields currents that activate slowly with depolarization and can form heteromeric channels with the protein encoded by the KCNQ3 gene. Currents expressed from this protein have voltage dependences and inhibitor sensitivities in common with M-currents. They are also inhibited by M1 muscarinic receptor activation. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
