Description
KCND2 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6203)
The KCND2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6203) is a specialized tool for researchers studying KCND2, a potassium channel subunit that plays a key role in regulating neuronal excitability. This antibody, generated in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the KCND2 protein, this antibody allows for the precise detection and analysis of KCND2 expression in a variety of cell types, making it an invaluable resource for studies in neuroscience and neurology.KCND2, also known as Kv4.
2, is essential for controlling the firing patterns of neurons and has been implicated in various neurological disorders such as epilepsy and Parkinson's disease. Understanding the function of KCND2 is crucial for uncovering the underlying mechanisms of these conditions and developing targeted therapies. The KCND2 Polyclonal Antibody provides researchers with a powerful tool for investigating the role of KCND2 in neuronal excitability and neurological diseases, paving the way for advancements in the field of neuroscience.

Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume. Four sequence-related potassium channel genes - shaker, shaw, shab, and shal - have been identified in Drosophila, and each has been shown to have human homolog(s). This gene encodes a member of the potassium channel, voltage-gated, shal-related subfamily, members of which form voltage-activated A-type potassium ion channels and are prominent in the repolarization phase of the action potential. This member mediates a rapidly inactivating, A-type outward potassium current which is not under the control of the N terminus as it is in Shaker channels.
