The KAT6B Polyclonal Antibody (CAB17116) is a valuable tool for researchers studying KAT6B, a histone acetyltransferase enzyme involved in gene regulation and chromatin remodeling. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the KAT6B protein, researchers can easily detect and analyze its expression in various cell types, making it an essential component for studies in epigenetics and cancer research.KAT6B, also known as MYST4, plays a crucial role in controlling gene expression through histone acetylation, impacting various cellular processes such as cell differentiation and proliferation.
Dysregulation of KAT6B has been linked to cancer development and progression, making it a potential target for therapeutic interventions. By investigating the functions of KAT6B, researchers can gain insights into how epigenetic modifications influence disease states, paving the way for the development of novel treatment strategies.

The protein encoded by this gene is a histone acetyltransferase and component of the MOZ/MORF protein complex. In addition to its acetyltransferase activity, the encoded protein has transcriptional activation activity in its N-terminal end and transcriptional repression activity in its C-terminal end. This protein is necessary for RUNX2-dependent transcriptional activation and could be involved in brain development. Mutations have been found in patients with genitopatellar syndrome. A translocation of this gene and the CREBBP gene results in acute myeloid leukemias. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
