The Kallikrein 7 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5506) is a powerful tool for researchers studying Kallikrein 7, a serine protease involved in various physiological processes, including skin desquamation and inflammation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity towards human samples, making it an ideal choice for Western blot applications.Kallikrein 7, also known as stratum corneum chymotryptic enzyme, plays a crucial role in skin barrier function and homeostasis. Dysregulation of Kallikrein 7 expression has been linked to various skin disorders, making it a potential therapeutic target in dermatological research.
By using the Kallikrein 7 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can accurately detect and quantify Kallikrein 7 protein levels in diverse cell types, facilitating investigations into its functions and mechanisms of action. This antibody is a valuable tool for studies in dermatology, skin biology, and inflammatory conditions, providing insights that could lead to the development of novel therapeutic strategies for skin-related disorders.

This gene encodes a member of the kallikrein subfamily of serine proteases. These enzymes have diverse physiological functions and many kallikrein genes are biomarkers for cancer. The encoded protein has chymotrypsin-like activity and plays a role in the proteolysis of intercellular cohesive structures that precedes desquamation, the shedding of the outermost layer of the epidermis. The encoded protein may play a role in cancer invasion and metastasis, and increased expression of this gene is associated with unfavorable prognosis and progression of several types of cancer. Polymorphisms in this gene may play a role in the development of atopic dermatitis. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene, which is one of fifteen kallikrein subfamily members located in a gene cluster on chromosome 19.
