Description
ITPKC Antibody (PACO00969)
The ITPKc Polyclonal Antibody (PACO00969) is a specialized tool for researchers studying ITPKc, a key enzyme involved in inositol metabolism and calcium signaling pathways. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity in detecting ITPKc protein in human samples, making it an ideal choice for Western blot analyses. By binding to the ITPKc protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, opening up new possibilities for investigation in areas such as cell signaling, metabolism, and disease mechanisms.ITPKc, also known as inositol-tetrakisphosphate 1-kinase, plays a crucial role in regulating cellular processes by controlling the levels of inositol phosphates, which are key signaling molecules in cells.
Dysregulation of ITPKc has been linked to various diseases, including cancer, diabetes, and neurological disorders. Therefore, understanding the function and regulation of ITPKc is essential for unraveling the underlying mechanisms of these diseases and developing targeted therapies.By utilizing the ITPKc Polyclonal Antibody (PACO00969) in your research, you can gain valuable insights into the role of ITPKc in cellular function and disease pathogenesis, paving the way for advancements in drug discovery and personalized medicine approaches.

UniProt Protein Function: | ITPKC: Can phosphorylate inositol 2,4,5-triphosphate to inositol 2,4,5,6-tetraphosphate. Defects in ITPKC are a cause of Kawasaki disease (KWD); also known as mucocutaneous lymph node syndrome or infantile polyarteritis. Kawasaki disease is an acute, self- limited vasculitis of infants and children characterized by prolonged fever unresponsive to antibiotics, polymorphous skin rash, erythema of the oral mucosa, lips, and tongue, erythema of the palms and soles, bilateral conjunctival injection, and cervical lymphadenopathy. Coronary artery aneurysms develop in 15 to 25% of those left untreated, making Kawasaki disease the leading cause of acquired heart disease among children in developed countries. Belongs to the inositol phosphokinase (IPK) family. |

NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a member of the inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate [Ins(1,4,5)P(3)] 3-kinase family of enzymes that catalyze the phosphorylation of inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate to 1,3,4,5-tetrakisphosphate. The encoded protein is localized to the nucleus and cytoplasm and has both nuclear import and nuclear export activity. Single nucleotide polymorphisms in this gene are associated with Kawasaki disease.[provided by RefSeq, Sep 2009] |
