The ITGA5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6209) is specifically designed for research involving ITGA5, a cell surface protein associated with cell adhesion and migration processes. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the ITGA5 protein, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of ITGA5 in various cell types, making it an excellent tool for studies in cell biology, cancer research, and tissue regeneration.ITGA5, also known as integrin alpha 5, plays a crucial role in mediating cell-cell and cell-extracellular matrix interactions, which are essential for various biological processes, including wound healing, embryogenesis, and tumor metastasis.
Dysregulation of ITGA5 has been implicated in a variety of pathological conditions, making it a potential target for therapeutic intervention.Overall, the ITGA5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6209) offers researchers a valuable tool for investigating the functions and regulatory mechanisms of ITGA5, ultimately contributing to the development of novel therapies for a range of diseases and conditions related to cell adhesion and migration.
The product of this gene belongs to the integrin alpha chain family. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha subunit and a beta subunit that function in cell surface adhesion and signaling. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate light and heavy chains that comprise the alpha 5 subunit. This subunit associates with the beta 1 subunit to form a fibronectin receptor. This integrin may promote tumor invasion, and higher expression of this gene may be correlated with shorter survival time in lung cancer patients. Note that the integrin alpha 5 and integrin alpha V subunits are encoded by distinct genes.
