The Integrin alpha 5 (ITGA5, CD49e) Polyclonal Antibody (CAB22018) is a valuable tool for researchers studying integrin alpha 5, a cell adhesion molecule involved in cell migration, differentiation, and signaling processes. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. Integrin alpha 5 plays a crucial role in mediating cell-extracellular matrix interactions, influencing cellular behaviors such as adhesion, spreading, and proliferation. Its dysregulation has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disorders, and developmental abnormalities.
By targeting integrin alpha 5, researchers can gain insights into the underlying mechanisms of these pathological conditions and explore potential therapeutic interventions targeting this molecule. This polyclonal antibody binds specifically to the ITGA5 protein, enabling precise detection and analysis in different cell types and tissues. Its versatility and reliability make it an essential tool for investigations in cell biology, cancer research, and tissue engineering. Gain a deeper understanding of integrin alpha 5 biology and its implications in disease pathology with the Integrin alpha 5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB22018).

The product of this gene belongs to the integrin alpha chain family. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane proteins composed of an alpha subunit and a beta subunit that function in cell surface adhesion and signaling. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate light and heavy chains that comprise the alpha 5 subunit. This subunit associates with the beta 1 subunit to form a fibronectin receptor. This integrin may promote tumor invasion, and higher expression of this gene may be correlated with shorter survival time in lung cancer patients. Note that the integrin alpha 5 and integrin alpha V subunits are encoded by distinct genes.
