The Insig1 Monoclonal Antibody is a powerful tool for research involving Insig1, a key regulator of cholesterol homeostasis and lipid metabolism. This antibody, generated using hybridoma technology, specifically targets Insig1 in human samples and is validated for use in various applications, including immunofluorescence and immunoprecipitation.Insig1 is a crucial protein involved in the regulation of cholesterol biosynthesis and degradation pathways, making it a potential target for therapeutic intervention in metabolic disorders such as atherosclerosis and obesity. By specifically binding to Insig1, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of this important protein in cell culture and tissue samples, enabling researchers to investigate its role in lipid metabolism and related diseases.
With its high specificity and sensitivity, the Insig1 Monoclonal Antibody is an invaluable tool for studies in molecular biology, biochemistry, and lipid metabolism research. Its ability to target Insig1 with precision makes it a reliable choice for researchers looking to deepen their understanding of cholesterol regulation and develop novel therapies for metabolic diseases.

This gene encodes an endoplasmic reticulum membrane protein that regulates cholesterol metabolism, lipogenesis, and glucose homeostasis. The encoded protein has six transmembrane helices which contain an effector protein binding site. It binds the sterol-sensing domains of sterol regulatory element-binding protein (SREBP) cleavage-activating protein (SCAP) and 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A reductase (HMG-CoA reductase), and is essential for the sterol-mediated trafficking of these two proteins. It promotes the endoplasmic reticulum retention of SCAP and the ubiquitin-mediated degradation of HMG-CoA reductase. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
