Description
IL2 Monoclonal Antibody (CAB23990)
The IL-2 Monoclonal Antibody (CAB23990) is a vital tool for researchers studying interleukin-2 (IL-2), a cytokine that plays a crucial role in immune system regulation. This antibody, produced using monoclonal antibody technology, is specifically designed for use in various immunological research applications, including Western blot and immunohistochemistry.IL-2 is known for its important functions in promoting the growth and activation of T cells, which are key players in the immune response against infections and cancer. By targeting IL-2, researchers can gain insights into how this cytokine contributes to immune system function and dysfunction, offering potential avenues for the development of immunotherapies.
With its high specificity and sensitivity in detecting IL-2, this monoclonal antibody is an essential tool for scientists studying the role of IL-2 in various immune-related diseases, such as autoimmune disorders, infectious diseases, and cancer. Its reliability and accuracy make it a valuable asset in advancing our understanding of immune system functions and developing novel therapeutic strategies.

This gene is a member of the interleukin 2 (IL2) cytokine subfamily which includes IL4, IL7, IL9, IL15, IL21, erythropoietin, and thrombopoietin. The protein encoded by this gene is a secreted cytokine produced by activated CD4+ and CD8+ T lymphocytes, that is important for the proliferation of T and B lymphocytes. The receptor of this cytokine (IL2R) is a heterotrimeric protein complex whose gamma chain is also shared by IL4 and IL7. The expression of this gene in mature thymocytes is monoallelic, which represents an unusual regulatory mode for controlling the precise expression of a single gene. The targeted disruption of a similar gene in mice leads to ulcerative colitis-like disease, which suggests an essential role of this gene in the immune response to antigenic stimuli.
