The IL1RN Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2088) is a valuable tool for research involving the IL1RN protein, a key regulator of the inflammatory response. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to the IL1RN protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an excellent choice for studies in immunology and inflammation research.IL1RN, also known as the interleukin-1 receptor antagonist, plays a crucial role in controlling the immune response by inhibiting the effects of pro-inflammatory cytokines.
Its involvement in regulating inflammation makes it a promising target for research into conditions such as autoimmune diseases, inflammatory disorders, and infectious diseases. Understanding the function of IL1RN is essential for developing therapeutic interventions that modulate the immune response and alleviate symptoms in these disease contexts.

The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the interleukin 1 cytokine family. This protein inhibits the activities of interleukin 1, alpha (IL1A) and interleukin 1, beta (IL1B), and modulates a variety of interleukin 1 related immune and inflammatory responses, particularly in the acute phase of infection and inflammation. This gene and five other closely related cytokine genes form a gene cluster spanning approximately 400 kb on chromosome 2. A polymorphism of this gene is reported to be associated with increased risk of osteoporotic fractures and gastric cancer. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
