The IL18BP Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6445) is a crucial tool for researchers studying IL18BP, a key player in the regulation of immune responses. IL18BP, also known as Interleukin 18 Binding Protein, functions by binding to interleukin-18 (IL-18) and inhibiting its pro-inflammatory activities. This polyclonal antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific and reactive with human samples, allowing for accurate detection and analysis of IL18BP in Western blot applications. Its versatility in binding to the IL18BP protein enables researchers to study its function in various cell types, making it a valuable asset for studies in immunology and inflammation research.
By understanding the role of IL18BP in immune regulation, researchers can uncover insights into diseases such as autoimmune disorders, inflammatory conditions, and cancer. Targeting IL18BP opens up potential therapeutic strategies for modulating immune responses and developing treatments for these diseases. The IL18BP Polyclonal Antibody is a valuable tool for advancing research in these critical areas.
Product Name:
IL18BP Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
SKU:
CAB6445
Size:
20uL, 100uL
Isotype:
IgG
Host Species:
Rabbit
Reactivity:
Human,Mouse
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 31-194 of human IL18BP (NP_001138529.1).
The protein encoded by this gene functions as an inhibitor of the proinflammatory cytokine, IL18. It binds IL18, prevents the binding of IL18 to its receptor, and thus inhibits IL18-induced IFN-gamma production, resulting in reduced T-helper type 1 immune responses. This protein is constitutively expressed and secreted in mononuclear cells. Elevated level of this protein is detected in the intestinal tissues of patients with Crohn's disease. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described for this gene.
Purification Method:
Affinity purification
