Description
IGF1 Monoclonal Antibody [NYRhIGF1] (CPAB0015)
The IGF1 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0015) is a crucial tool for researchers studying insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1), a key hormone involved in cell growth, development, and metabolism. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity in detecting IGF1 in human samples, making it a reliable choice for Western blotting and immunohistochemistry applications.IGF1 plays a pivotal role in various biological processes, including promoting cell proliferation, differentiation, and survival. Dysregulation of IGF1 signaling has been linked to several diseases, such as cancer, diabetes, and growth disorders.
By targeting IGF1 with this antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into its function and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets for these conditions. With its ability to specifically recognize and bind to IGF1, the CPAB0015 antibody is a valuable tool for advancing research in endocrinology, oncology, and developmental biology. Its versatility and reliability make it an essential component in the study of IGF1 and its role in health and disease.

Background: | The somatomedins, or insulin-like growth factors (IGFs), comprise a family of peptides that play important roles in mammalian growth and development. IGF1 mediates many of the growth-promoting effects of growth hormone (GH; MIM 139250). Early studies showed that growth hormone did not directly stimulate the incorporation of sulfate into cartilage, but rather acted through a serum factor, termed 'sulfation factor,' which later became known as 'somatomedin' (Daughaday et al., 1972). Three main somatomedins have been characterized: somatomedin C (IGF1), somatomedin A (IGF2; MIM 147470), and somatomedin B (MIM 193190) (Rotwein, 1986; Rosenfeld, 2003). |
