The IFI16 Polyclonal Antibody (AB30012) is a powerful tool for research involving IFI16, a protein involved in immune response and inflammation regulation. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot and immunofluorescence applications. It binds to the IFI16 protein, allowing for precise detection and analysis in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in immunology, infectious diseases, and autoimmune disorders.
IFI16, also known as interferon gamma-inducible protein 16, plays a crucial role in innate immune responses by sensing DNA from pathogens and initiating antiviral immune defenses. Its involvement in immune signaling pathways makes it a valuable target for research into viral infections, autoimmune diseases, and inflammatory conditions. Understanding the functions of IFI16 is essential for developing treatments targeting immune responses and inflammation-related disorders.

This gene encodes a member of the HIN-200 (hematopoietic interferon-inducible nuclear antigens with 200 amino acid repeats) family of cytokines. The encoded protein contains domains involved in DNA binding, transcriptional regulation, and protein-protein interactions. The protein localizes to the nucleoplasm and nucleoli, and interacts with p53 and retinoblastoma-1. It modulates p53 function, and inhibits cell growth in the Ras/Raf signaling pathway. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
