Polymerase (RNA) III (DNA directed) Polypeptide H(POLR3H) is a member of the eukaryotic RPB7/RPC8 RNA polymerase subunit family. POLR3H is DNA-dependent RNA polymerase which catalyzes the transcription of DNA into RNA utilizing the 4 ribonucleoside triphosphates as substrates. POLR3H has a central role in sensing and curbing infection by intracellular bacteria and DNA viruses. POLR3H functions as nuclear and cytosolic DNA sensor which is involved in innate immune response.
POLR3H Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 227 amino acids (1-204 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 25.3kDa (Molecular size on SDS-PAGE will appear higher).POLR3H is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | POLR3H: DNA-dependent RNA polymerase catalyzes the transcription of DNA into RNA using the four ribonucleoside triphosphates as substrates. Specific peripheric component of RNA polymerase III which synthesizes small RNAs, such as 5S rRNA and tRNAs. Plays a key role in sensing and limiting infection by intracellular bacteria and DNA viruses. Acts as nuclear and cytosolic DNA sensor involved in innate immune response. Can sense non-self dsDNA that serves as template for transcription into dsRNA. The non-self RNA polymerase III transcripts, such as Epstein-Barr virus-encoded RNAs (EBERs) induce type I interferon and NF- Kappa-B through the RIG-I pathway. Belongs to the eukaryotic RPB7/RPC8 RNA polymerase subunit family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 22q13.2Cellular Component: centrosome; cytosol; DNA-directed RNA polymerase III complex; intracellular membrane-bound organelle; nucleoplasmMolecular Function: DNA binding; DNA-directed RNA polymerase activityBiological Process: defense response to virus; gene expression; innate immune response; nucleobase, nucleoside, nucleotide and nucleic acid metabolic process; positive regulation of interferon type I production; RNA elongation from RNA polymerase III promoter; termination of RNA polymerase III transcription; transcription from RNA polymerase III promoter; transcription initiation from RNA polymerase III promoter |
