Polymerase (RNA) II (DNA directed) Polypeptide K, also known as POLR2K is am ember of the archaealRpoP/eukaryotic RPC10 RNA polymerase subunit family. POLR2K is one of thesmallest subunits of RNA polymerase II, the polymerase is responsible for synthesizingmessenger RNA in eukaryotes. In addition, the other two DNA-directed RNApolymerases share this subunit.
POLR2K Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 81 amino acids (1-58 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 9.4kDa.POLR2K is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | POLR2K: DNA-dependent RNA polymerase catalyzes the transcription of DNA into RNA using the four ribonucleoside triphosphates as substrates. Common component of RNA polymerases I, II and III which synthesize ribosomal RNA precursors, mRNA precursors and many functional non-coding RNAs, and a small RNAs, such as 5S rRNA and tRNAs, respectively. Belongs to the archaeal RpoP/eukaryotic RPC10 RNA polymerase subunit family. |
