Proline-Rich Nuclear Receptor Coactivator 2 (PNRC2) takes part in controlling the energy balance between energy storage and energy expenditure. PNRC2 is involved in nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) by operating as a bridge between the mRNA decapping complex and the NMD machinery. PNRC2 is needed for UPF1/RENT1 localization to the P-body and also plays a role as a nuclear receptor coactivator.
PNRC2 Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 162 amino acids (1-139) and having a molecular mass of 18kDa. PNRC2 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | PNRC2: Involved in nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD) by acting as a bridge between the mRNA decapping complex and the NMD machinery. May act by targeting the NMD machinery to the P-body and recruiting the decapping machinery to aberrant mRNAs. Required for UPF1/RENT1 localization to the P-body. Also acts as a nuclear receptor coactivator. May play a role in controlling the energy balance between energy storage and energy expenditure. Belongs to the PNRC family. PNRC2 subfamily. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |
