NT5E, also known as CD73, is a plasma membrane protein which catalyzes the conversion of extracellular nucleotides into membrane-permeable nucleosides. NT5E is functions as a determinant of lymphocyte differentiation. Defects in NT5E can cause the calcification of joints and arteries.
NT5E (CD73) Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 247amino acids (27-252 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 27kDa. NT5E (CD73) is fused to a 21 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | NT5E: Hydrolyzes extracellular nucleotides into membrane permeable nucleosides. Homodimer; disulfide-linked. Belongs to the 5'-nucleotidase family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |

NCBI Summary: | The protein encoded by this gene is a plasma membrane protein that catalyzes the conversion of extracellular nucleotides to membrane-permeable nucleosides. The encoded protein is used as a determinant of lymphocyte differentiation. Defects in this gene can lead to the calcification of joints and arteries. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.[provided by RefSeq, Mar 2011] |
