The Human MUC5B (Mucin 5 Subtype B) ELISA Kit is specifically designed for the precise measurement of MUC5B levels in human samples including serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. This kit offers superior sensitivity and specificity, ensuring accurate and consistent results for a variety of research applications.MUC5B is a key mucin protein involved in mucin production and regulation, particularly in the respiratory tract where it plays a crucial role in maintaining mucosal integrity and protecting against pathogens. Dysregulation of MUC5B expression has been linked to respiratory disorders such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, and asthma, highlighting its importance as a potential biomarker for studying and developing treatments for these conditions.
Overall, the Human MUC5B ELISA Kit is a valuable tool for researchers looking to investigate the role of MUC5B in respiratory health and disease, offering reliable results and insights that can contribute to advancements in respiratory medicine and therapeutics.

This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human MUC5B. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Human MUC5B and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Human MUC5B, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Human MUC5B. You can calculate the concentration of Human MUC5B in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
