The Human MUC5AC (Mucin 5 subtype AC) ELISA Kit is specifically designed for the accurate quantification of MUC5AC levels in human samples, including serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. This kit offers high sensitivity and specificity, ensuring precise and reproducible results for a variety of research applications.MUC5AC is a key mucin protein responsible for maintaining the protective barrier of epithelial cells in mucosal tissues. Dysregulation of MUC5AC expression has been linked to various respiratory diseases, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and cystic fibrosis.
Therefore, accurate detection and measurement of MUC5AC levels are crucial in understanding the pathogenesis of these diseases and developing potential therapeutic interventions.Overall, the Human MUC5AC ELISA Kit provides researchers with a valuable tool for studying the role of mucins in respiratory diseases and advancing the field of mucin biology research.

This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human MUC5AC. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Human MUC5AC and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Human MUC5AC, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Human MUC5AC. You can calculate the concentration of Human MUC5AC in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
