JmjC domain-containing protein 7 (JMJD7) is a member of theJMJD family. JMJD7 encodes highly conserved proteins with a JmjC domain, whichare part of the cupin metalloenzyme superfamily. JMJD7 was first thought to bean alternatively spliced isoform of PLA2G4B. It is derived from JMJD7 which islocated upstream of PLA2G4B. Most tissues also express read-through transcriptsfrom JMJD7 into the downstream PLA2G4B gene, some of which may encode fusionproteins combining the N-terminus of JMJD7 with PLA2G4B protein.
JMJD7 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 339 amino acids (1-316 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 38.3kDa.JMJD7 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | JMJD7: a highly conserved protein with a JmjC domain, which are part of the cupin metalloenzyme superfamily. JmjC proteins may function as 2-oxoglutarate-Fe(II)-dependent dioxygenases. Most tissues also express read-through transcripts from this gene into the downstream phospholipase A2, group IVB (cytosolic) gene, some of which may encode fusion proteins combining the N-terminus of this protein with the phospholipase A2, group IVB protein.
