Hepatic leukemia factor (HLF) is a member of the bZIP family and the PAR (proline and acidic-rich) subfamily of transcription regulatory proteins. HLF binds DNA specifically as a homodimer or heterodimer with other PAR factors. HLF is highly expressed in the liver, with lower levels in the lung and kidney and functions as an effective trans-activator.
HLF Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 315 amino acids (1-295 a.a.) and having a molecular mass of 35.3kDa.HLF is fused to a 20 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | HLF: A chromosomal aberration involving HLF is a cause of pre-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (B-ALL). Translocation t(17;19)(q22;p13.3) with TCF3. Belongs to the bZIP family. PAR subfamily. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Oncoprotein; DNA-binding Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q22 Cellular Component: nucleus Molecular Function:DNA binding; sequence-specific DNA binding; double-stranded DNA binding; transcription factor activity Biological Process: transcription from RNA polymerase II promoter; regulation of transcription, DNA-dependent; multicellular organismal development; rhythmic process |
NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a member of the proline and acidic-rich (PAR) protein family, a subset of the bZIP transcription factors. The encoded protein forms homodimers or heterodimers with other PAR family members and binds sequence-specific promoter elements to activate transcription. Chromosomal translocations fusing portions of this gene with the E2A gene cause a subset of childhood B-lineage acute lymphoid leukemias. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, but their biological validity has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
