The Human DEFA5 (Defensin Alpha 5) ELISA Kit is specifically designed for the accurate measurement of DEFA5 levels in human serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatants. This kit offers high sensitivity and specificity, ensuring robust and consistent results for a variety of research applications.Defensin Alpha 5 is a paneth cell-specific protein that plays a crucial role in the immune response, defending against microbial infections and maintaining intestinal homeostasis. Dysregulation of DEFA5 has been implicated in inflammatory bowel diseases, autoimmune disorders, and other pathological conditions, making it a valuable biomarker for studying these diseases and developing potential therapeutic interventions.
With its user-friendly design and reliable performance, the Human DEFA5 ELISA Kit is a valuable tool for researchers in immunology, microbiology, and molecular biology seeking to explore the role of Defensin Alpha 5 in health and disease. This ELISA kit uses the Sandwich-ELISA principle. The micro ELISA plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with an antibody specific to Human DEFα5. Standards or samples are added to the micro ELISA plate wells and combined with the specific antibody. Then a biotinylated detection antibody specific for Human DEFα5 and Avidin-Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) conjugate are added successively to each micro plate well and incubated. Free components are washed away. The substrate solution is added to each well. Only those wells that contain Human DEFα5, biotinylated detection antibody and Avidin-HRP conjugate will appear blue in color. The enzyme-substrate reaction is terminated by the addition of stop solution and the color turns yellow. The optical density (OD) is measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm ± 2 nm. The OD value is proportional to the concentration of Human DEFα5. You can calculate the concentration of Human DEFα5 in the samples by comparing the OD of the samples to the standard curve.
