Cytohesin-interacting protein, also known as CYTIP contains 2 leucinezipper domains as well as a putative C-terminal nuclear targeting signal. However, CYTIP does not contain any hydrophobic regions. In addition, CYTIP isexpressed weakly in resting NK and T cells. It also modulates the activation of ARF genes byCYTH1.
CYTIP Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 384 amino acids (1-359 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 42.6kDa.CYTIP is fused to a 25 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | PSCDBP: By its binding to cytohesin-1 (CYTH1), it modifies activation of ARFs by CYTH1 and its precise function may be to sequester CYTH1 in the cytoplasm. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Cell adhesion Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 2q11.2 Cellular Component: nucleoplasm; cytoplasm; early endosome; cell cortex Molecular Function:protein binding Biological Process: regulation of cell adhesion |
NCBI Summary: | The protein encoded by this gene contains 2 leucine zipper domains and a putative C-terminal nuclear targeting signal, but does not have any hydrophobic regions. This protein is expressed weakly in resting NK and T cells. The encoded protein modulates the activation of ARF genes by CYTH1. This protein interacts with CYTH1 and SNX27 proteins and may act to sequester CYTH1 protein in the cytoplasm.[provided by RefSeq, Aug 2008] |
