Cyclin-dependent kinase 3, also known as CDK3, is a part of the cyclin-dependent protein kinase family. CDK3 promotes entry into S phase, partially by activating members of the E2F family of transcription factors. CDK3 also associates with cyclin C and phosphorylates the retinoblastoma one protein to promote exit from G0.
CDK3 Human Recombinant produced in E. coli is a single polypeptide chain containing 328 amino acids (1-305) and having a molecular mass of 37.4kDa.CDK3 is fused to a 23 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
UniProt Protein Function: | CDK3: a protein kinase of the CDK family. May be involved in cell cycle control. Can phosphorylate histone H1. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Kinase, protein; Cell cycle regulation; Protein kinase, CMGC; EC 2.7.11.22; Protein kinase, Ser/Thr (non-receptor); CMGC group; CDK family; CDK/CDK1 subfamily; CDK1 subfamily Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 17q25.1 Biological Process: cell proliferation; G0 to G1 transition; G1/S transition of mitotic cell cycle; response to DNA damage stimulus |
NCBI Summary: | This gene encodes a member of the cyclin-dependent protein kinase family. The protein promotes entry into S phase, in part by activating members of the E2F family of transcription factors. The protein also associates with cyclin C and phosphorylates the retinoblastoma 1 protein to promote exit from G0. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
