The Human CD8a Monoclonal Antibody (PE Conjugated, Clone OKT-8, Catalog # AGEL0408) is a cutting-edge tool designed for researchers studying CD8a, a vital cell surface marker associated with cytotoxic T lymphocytes. This monoclonal antibody, conjugated with phycoerythrin (PE), offers exceptional specificity and sensitivity in detecting CD8a in human samples. It is validated for flow cytometry applications, providing precise identification and quantification of CD8a-positive cells in complex biological samples.CD8a, a coreceptor involved in T cell activation and function, is crucial for immune responses against pathogens and cancer cells. Its expression pattern and level on T cells are indicative of their differentiation and effector functions in the immune system. Understanding the dynamics of CD8a expression can uncover insights into immune responses, host defense mechanisms, and immunotherapy strategies in conditions such as viral infections, autoimmune diseases, and cancer.
The PE-conjugated CD8a Monoclonal Antibody (Clone OKT-8) offers a reliable and reproducible tool for investigating the role of CD8a in immunology, oncology, and infectious diseases research. By enabling precise detection and analysis of CD8a-expressing cells, this antibody facilitates in-depth studies on T cell biology, immune surveillance, and therapeutic interventions targeted at manipulating CD8a-mediated immune responses. Unlock the potential of your research with the Human CD8a Monoclonal Antibody (PE Conjugated, Clone OKT-8, Catalog # AGEL0408) from Assay Genie.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD8a is a 32-34 kD type I glycoprotein. It forms a homodimer (CD8a/a) or heterodimer (CD8a/b) with CD8b. CD8, also known as T8 and Leu2, is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily found on the majority of thymocytes, a subset of peripheral blood T cells, and NK cells (which express almost exclusively CD8a homodimers). CD8 acts as a co-receptor with MHC class I-restricted T cell receptors in antigen recognition and T cell activation and has been shown to play a role in thymic differentiation. Two domains in CD8a are important for function: the extracellular IgSF domain binds the α3 domain of MHC class I and the cytoplasmic CXCP motif binds the tyrosine kinase p56 Lck.
