The CD62L Monoclonal Antibody (PE-Cyanine5 Conjugated) (DREG56) is a powerful tool for researchers studying immune cell activation and migration. This antibody, specifically designed for use in flow cytometry applications, targets the CD62L protein, which is a key adhesion molecule involved in the homing of lymphocytes to secondary lymphoid organs.CD62L, also known as L-selectin, plays a crucial role in the immune response by facilitating the interaction between circulating immune cells and endothelial cells. By binding to CD62L, the DREG56 antibody allows for the detection and analysis of lymphocyte populations expressing this important marker. It is highly specific to human samples, ensuring accurate results in research focused on immune cell trafficking and immune system function.
With its PE-Cyanine5 conjugation, this antibody provides robust and reliable fluorescence detection, making it an essential tool for immunologists and researchers studying inflammatory responses, infectious diseases, and immune cell activation. By targeting CD62L, this antibody aids in understanding the mechanisms underlying immune cell recruitment and activation, opening up avenues for exploring therapeutic strategies in conditions such as autoimmune diseases, infections, and inflammation-related disorders.

Background:
CD62L is a 74-95 kD single chain type I glycoprotein referred to as L-selectin or LECAM-1. It is expressed on most peripheral blood B cells, subsets of T and NK cells, monocytes, granulocytes, and certain hematopoietic malignant cells. CD62L binds to carbohydrates present on certain glycoforms of CD34, glycam-1, and MAdCAM-1 and with a low affinity to anionic oligosaccharide sequences related to sialylated Lewis X (sLex, CD15s) through its C-type lectin domain. CD62L is important for the homing of naïve lymphocytes to high endothelial venules in peripheral lymph nodes and Peyer's patches. It also plays a role in leukocyte rolling on activated endothelial cells.
