The Human CD62L Monoclonal Antibody (PE Conjugated) DREG56 [AGEL0949] is a specialized antibody designed for research purposes targeting CD62L, a critical cell adhesion molecule involved in immune responses and cell trafficking. Also known as L-selectin, CD62L plays a crucial role in the migration of lymphocytes to secondary lymphoid organs and sites of inflammation. This monoclonal antibody, conjugated to phycoerythrin (PE), is carefully validated for its specificity and sensitivity in detecting CD62L in human samples. It is an essential tool for flow cytometry applications, enabling precise identification and analysis of CD62L expression on various cell types, particularly leukocytes.
Given the central role of CD62L in immune cell interactions and inflammatory processes, research utilizing this antibody can provide valuable insights into immune system function, inflammatory disorders, and potential therapeutic targets. Its application extends to studies on immune cell activation, migration, and homing mechanisms, making it indispensable for investigations in immunology, inflammation, and related fields.

Background:
CD62L is a 74-95 kD single chain type I glycoprotein referred to as L-selectin or LECAM-1. It is expressed on most peripheral blood B cells, subsets of T and NK cells, monocytes, granulocytes, and certain hematopoietic malignant cells. CD62L binds to carbohydrates present on certain glycoforms of CD34, glycam-1, and MAdCAM-1 and with a low affinity to anionic oligosaccharide sequences related to sialylated Lewis X (sLex, CD15s) through its C-type lectin domain. CD62L is important for the homing of naïve lymphocytes to high endothelial venules in peripheral lymph nodes and Peyer's patches. It also plays a role in leukocyte rolling on activated endothelial cells.
