The Human CD57 Monoclonal Antibody (FITC Conjugated) is a specialized tool designed for researchers studying CD57, a cell surface marker associated with natural killer cells and certain subsets of immune cells. This monoclonal antibody, labeled with FITC for fluorescence-based applications, is optimized for use in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence staining methods.CD57, also known as HNK-1 antigen, is a glycoprotein expressed on a subset of immune cells, including natural killer cells, T cells, and some B cells. It is commonly used as a marker for immune cell subpopulations and has been implicated in various immune responses and diseases.
The FITC-conjugated CD57 monoclonal antibody provides a sensitive and specific tool for detecting and analyzing CD57-expressing cells in research settings.By using this antibody, researchers can explore the role of CD57 in immune function, immune cell profiling, and disease pathogenesis. Whether investigating immune responses in cancer, autoimmune disorders, or infectious diseases, this CD57 monoclonal antibody offers a reliable means of detecting and characterizing CD57-expressing cells in diverse experimental contexts.

Background:
CD57, also known as HNK-1, NK-1, and Leu-7 is a 100-115 kD oligosaccharide antigenic determinant expressed on a variety of proteins, lipids, and chondroitin sulfate proteoglycans. CD57 is expressed on a subset of peripheral blood lymphocytes, including NK cells and CD8+ T cells, and is also expressed on neural cells and striated muscle. CD57 is not expressed on red blood cells, granulocytes, monocytes, or platelets. While the function of CD57 is unknown, binding to L-selectin, P-selectin, and a fragment of laminin suggests that CD57 may be involved in cell-matrix interactions. CD57 is increased in some disease states associated with CD4/CD8 imbalances (AIDS, autoimmune disease, viral infections, and allograft transplants).
