The FITC-conjugated Human CD21 Monoclonal Antibody (BU32) from Assay Genie (AGEL0203) is a valuable tool for research involving the CD21 cell surface molecule. Also known as complement receptor 2, CD21 plays a crucial role in B-cell activation and immune response regulation. This monoclonal antibody, designed specifically for human samples, allows for the detection and analysis of CD21 in various cell types. The FITC conjugation of this antibody provides a fluorescent detection method, enabling visualization and quantification of CD21 expression in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence assays.
With its high specificity and sensitivity, researchers can confidently study the role of CD21 in immunology, infectious diseases, and autoimmune disorders.By targeting CD21, researchers can gain insights into B-cell function, antigen presentation, and immune response modulation. The FITC-conjugated Human CD21 Monoclonal Antibody (BU32) is a valuable tool for advancing research on immune regulation and could lead to discoveries with implications for therapeutic interventions in diseases where immune dysregulation is a hallmark feature.

Background:
CD21 is a 145 kD transmembrane protein also known as complement C3d receptor (C3dR), complement receptor 2 (CR2), and Epstein-Barr virus receptor. CD21 is expressed on B cells, follicular dendritic cells, subsets of normal thymocytes and T cells, and some epithelial cells. CD21 is the receptor used by Epstein-Barr virus to infect B cells and is also the complement receptor for C3d. CD21 has also been shown to interact with a number of proteins, including CD23, CD19, annexin VI, CD81, iC3b, complement receptor 1 (CR1, CD35), and interferon-alpha 1 (IFN-α1).
