The Human CD21 Monoclonal Antibody (APC Conjugated) (BU32) is a powerful tool for researchers working with CD21, a key cell surface receptor involved in the complement system and B-cell activation. This monoclonal antibody, conjugated to APC for sensitive detection, has been specifically designed for use in flow cytometry applications, enabling precise analysis of CD21 expression levels on human cells.CD21, also known as complement receptor 2 (CR2), plays a crucial role in immune responses by facilitating the uptake and presentation of immune complexes. Its interactions with complement components are essential for efficient B-cell activation and antibody production.
Research on CD21 is relevant to various fields, including immunology, infectious diseases, and vaccine development. The Human CD21 Monoclonal Antibody (APC Conjugated) (BU32) offered by Assay Genie provides researchers with a reliable tool to investigate the expression and function of CD21 in diverse cellular contexts. Whether studying B-cell biology, immune responses, or infectious diseases, this antibody enables high-quality flow cytometry analysis, contributing valuable insights to the field of immunological research.

Background:
CD21 is a 145 kD transmembrane protein also known as complement C3d receptor (C3dR), complement receptor 2 (CR2), and Epstein-Barr virus receptor. CD21 is expressed on B cells, follicular dendritic cells, subsets of normal thymocytes and T cells, and some epithelial cells. CD21 is the receptor used by Epstein-Barr virus to infect B cells and is also the complement receptor for C3d. CD21 has also been shown to interact with a number of proteins, including CD23, CD19, annexin VI, CD81, iC3b, complement receptor 1 (CR1, CD35), and interferon-alpha 1 (IFN-α1).
