The Human CD21 Monoclonal Antibody (Alexa Fluor 488 Conjugated) is a cutting-edge tool for researchers studying CD21, a key cell surface protein involved in immune responses. This monoclonal antibody, designated as BU32 (AGEL0205), is developed for use in fluorescence-based applications, particularly for visualizing and analyzing CD21 expression in human biological samples.CD21, also known as complement receptor 2 (CR2), plays a vital role in regulating B cell activation and promoting immune responses. By specifically targeting and binding to CD21, this antibody enables precise detection and localization of the protein within various cell types and tissues. Its conjugation with Alexa Fluor 488 further enhances the visualization capabilities, making it suitable for fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and other fluorescence-based techniques.
Researchers investigating immune system function, B cell biology, and infectious diseases can benefit from the Human CD21 Monoclonal Antibody (Alexa Fluor 488 Conjugated). By gaining insights into the expression and localization of CD21, this antibody facilitates the study of immune responses, antibody production, and the interactions between immune cells. Harnessing its specificity and fluorescence properties, this antibody is a valuable tool for advancing research in immunology, vaccine development, and autoimmune disorders.

Background:
CD21 is a 145 kD transmembrane protein also known as complement C3d receptor (C3dR), complement receptor 2 (CR2), and Epstein-Barr virus receptor. CD21 is expressed on B cells, follicular dendritic cells, subsets of normal thymocytes and T cells, and some epithelial cells. CD21 is the receptor used by Epstein-Barr virus to infect B cells and is also the complement receptor for C3d. CD21 has also been shown to interact with a number of proteins, including CD23, CD19, annexin VI, CD81, iC3b, complement receptor 1 (CR1, CD35), and interferon-alpha 1 (IFN-α1).
