The Human CD11a Monoclonal Antibody Alexa Fluor 488 Conjugated (TS1/22) is a vital tool for researchers studying immune function and cell adhesion mechanisms. This monoclonal antibody, labeled with Alexa Fluor 488 for fluorescent detection, specifically targets CD11a, a cell surface glycoprotein involved in the regulation of immune responses and cell adhesion processes. The TS1/22 antibody is validated for use in flow cytometry and immunofluorescence applications, allowing for the precise detection and visualization of CD11a expression on various cell types. By binding to CD11a, this antibody enables researchers to characterize the distribution and activity of this crucial protein in the context of immune cell interactions and signaling pathways.
CD11a, also known as integrin αL, plays a pivotal role in T cell activation, adhesion to endothelial cells, and immune cell migration. Understanding the functions and regulation of CD11a is essential for unraveling the complexities of immune responses, inflammatory processes, and autoimmune diseases. The availability of the TS1/22 antibody provides researchers with a powerful tool to investigate the role of CD11a in health and disease, paving the way for new insights into immune system function and therapeutic interventions.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD11a is a 170-180 kD type I transmembrane glycoprotein also known as LFA-1α chain and integrin αL subunit. CD11a non-covalently associates with integrin β2 (CD18) to form LFA-1. It is expressed on all leukocytes, including B and T lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, basophils and eosinophils. It is absent on non-hematopoietic tissues and platelets. CD11a plays a central role in leukocyte cell-cell interactions and is important in lymphocyte costimulation. CD11a/CD18 binds to ICAM-1 (CD54), ICAM-2 (CD102), and ICAM-3 (CD50).
