The Human CD117 Monoclonal Antibody (PE-conjugated, 104D2 - AGEL1778) is an essential tool for researchers studying CD117, a cell surface receptor involved in various cellular processes and often used as a marker for specific cell types. This monoclonal antibody, conjugated to phycoerythrin (PE), offers high specificity and sensitivity for detecting CD117 in human samples, making it an ideal choice for flow cytometry and immunofluorescence applications.CD117, also known as c-Kit or stem cell factor receptor, is a transmembrane protein that plays a crucial role in cell survival, proliferation, and differentiation. Its expression is particularly important in hematopoietic stem cells, mast cells, and germ cells, making it a valuable target for research in stem cell biology, cancer biology, and developmental biology.
The PE-conjugated CD117 monoclonal antibody allows for precise identification and quantification of CD117-expressing cells, facilitating detailed analysis and characterization of cell populations.By utilizing this monoclonal antibody, researchers can delve deep into the mechanisms involving CD117 and its implications in various physiological and pathological conditions. Understanding the intricate functions of CD117 is vital for unraveling its roles in diseases such as cancer, leukemia, and disorders of hematopoiesis. The PE-conjugated CD117 monoclonal antibody provides a reliable tool for investigating CD117 biology and could potentially lead to significant advancements in targeted therapies and diagnostic applications.
Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by flow cytometric analysis. The amount of the reagent is suggested to be used 5 µL of antibody per test (million cells in 100 µL staining volume or per 100 µL of whole blood). Please check your vial before the experiment. Since applications vary, the appropriate dilutions must be determined for individual use.

Background:
CD117 is a 145 kD protein tyrosine kinase also known as c-Kit. It is a receptor for stem cell factor or c-Kit ligand. CD117 is expressed on pluripotent hematopoietic progenitor cells (approximately 1-4% bone marrow cells), mast cells, and acute myeloid leukemia cells (AML). CD117 binding of c-Kit ligand induces phosphorylation of CD117 and stimulates proliferation and survival of primitive hematopoietic stem cells as well as erythroid-committed and granulo-monocytic committed cells.
