The HTR3A Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5647) is a valuable tool for research involving the HTR3A protein, a subunit of the serotonin receptor implicated in various physiological and pathological processes. This antibody, raised in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the HTR3A protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in different cell types, making it an ideal choice for studies in neuroscience, pharmacology, and mental health research. The HTR3A protein, part of the serotonin receptor family, is involved in modulating neurotransmission and plays a crucial role in regulating mood, cognition, and behavior.
Dysregulation of the serotonin receptor system, including HTR3A, has been implicated in various psychiatric disorders, such as depression, anxiety, and schizophrenia. Understanding the function and regulation of HTR3A is essential for developing new therapeutic approaches targeting these conditions.Overall, the HTR3A Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5647) offers researchers a reliable tool for studying the HTR3A protein and its role in serotonin signaling pathways, providing insights into the pathophysiology of neuropsychiatric disorders and facilitating the development of innovative treatment strategies.

The product of this gene belongs to the ligand-gated ion channel receptor superfamily. This gene encodes subunit A of the type 3 receptor for 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin), a biogenic hormone that functions as a neurotransmitter, a hormone, and a mitogen. This receptor causes fast, depolarizing responses in neurons after activation. It appears that the heteromeric combination of A and B subunits is necessary to provide the full functional features of this receptor, since either subunit alone results in receptors with very low conductance and response amplitude. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
