The HSD17B8 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB12947) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the HSD17B8 protein, an enzyme involved in the metabolism of steroid hormones and retinoids. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and is validated for use in various applications, including Western blotting.HSD17B8 plays a crucial role in hormone regulation and lipid metabolism, making it a promising target for research related to hormone-dependent cancers, metabolic disorders, and reproductive health. By binding specifically to the HSD17B8 protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in different cell types, providing researchers with valuable insights into its function and potential therapeutic applications.
Understanding the role of HSD17B8 in hormone metabolism and related diseases is essential for developing targeted treatments and interventions to improve human health outcomes. With its high reactivity and specificity, the HSD17B8 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable tool for advancing research in this important field.

In mice, the Ke6 protein is a 17-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase that can regulate the concentration of biologically active estrogens and androgens. It is preferentially an oxidative enzyme and inactivates estradiol, testosterone, and dihydrotestosterone. However, the enzyme has some reductive activity and can synthesize estradiol from estrone. The protein encoded by this gene is similar to Ke6 and is a member of the short-chain dehydrogenase superfamily. An alternatively spliced transcript of this gene has been detected, but the full-length nature of this variant has not been determined.
