The HRP-Conjugated GAPDH Mouse Monoclonal Antibody (CABC035) is a powerful tool for research involving glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), an essential enzyme involved in glycolysis. This antibody, derived from mice, is highly specific and reacts strongly with GAPDH from various species, making it suitable for a wide range of applications including Western blotting and immunohistochemistry.GAPDH is a key enzyme in energy metabolism and has been implicated in various cellular processes beyond its traditional role in glycolysis. It is often used as a loading control in Western blotting experiments due to its consistent expression levels in most cells and tissues.
The HRP conjugation of this antibody allows for easy detection and visualization of GAPDH in experimental samples, providing researchers with reliable and accurate results. With its high specificity and sensitivity, the HRP-Conjugated GAPDH Mouse Monoclonal Antibody is an invaluable tool for researchers studying metabolism, cell biology, and more. Its versatility and reliability make it a crucial addition to any laboratory conducting research in fields such as cancer biology, neurobiology, and metabolic disorders.

This gene encodes a member of the glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase protein family. The encoded protein has been identified as a moonlighting protein based on its ability to perform mechanistically distinct functions. The product of this gene catalyzes an important energy-yielding step in carbohydrate metabolism, the reversible oxidative phosphorylation of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate in the presence of inorganic phosphate and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD). The encoded protein has additionally been identified to have uracil DNA glycosylase activity in the nucleus. Also, this protein contains a peptide that has antimicrobial activity against E. coli, P. aeruginosa, and C. albicans. Studies of a similar protein in mouse have assigned a variety of additional functions including nitrosylation of nuclear proteins, the regulation of mRNA stability, and acting as a transferrin receptor on the cell surface of macrophage. Many pseudogenes similar to this locus are present in the human genome. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
