The HOXD8 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB16877) is specifically designed for research involving the HOXD8 protein, a transcription factor that plays a crucial role in embryonic development and cell differentiation. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is suitable for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the HOXD8 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in various cell types, making it an ideal tool for studies in developmental biology and cancer research.
HOXD8 is a key regulator of gene expression and cell fate determination, influencing processes such as limb development and organ patterning. Its involvement in various cellular pathways makes it a promising target for investigating the mechanisms underlying developmental disorders and tumorigenesis. Understanding the function of HOXD8 is essential for uncovering its potential implications in disease pathology and therapeutic interventions.

This gene belongs to the homeobox family of genes. The homeobox genes encode a highly conserved family of transcription factors that play an important role in morphogenesis in all multicellular organisms. Mammals possess four similar homeobox gene clusters, HOXA, HOXB, HOXC and HOXD, located on different chromosomes, consisting of 9 to 11 genes arranged in tandem. This gene is one of several homeobox HOXD genes located in a cluster on chromosome 2. Deletions that remove the entire HOXD gene cluster or the 5' end of this cluster have been associated with severe limb and genital abnormalities. In addition to effects during embryogenesis, this particular gene may also play a role in adult urogenital tract function. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
