The HMGB2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2973) is a powerful tool for researchers studying the high mobility group box 2 (HMGB2) protein, which plays a key role in chromatin structure and gene regulation. This antibody, raised in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding specifically to HMGB2, researchers can detect and analyze this protein in various cell types, making it an ideal tool for studies in molecular biology and cancer research.
HMGB2 is known for its involvement in DNA repair, transcriptional regulation, and inflammation, making it a crucial target for understanding various disease processes. Its role in regulating gene expression and chromatin structure highlights its importance in cancer biology, autoimmune disorders, and other inflammatory conditions. By studying HMGB2 with the use of this antibody, researchers can gain insights into mechanisms underlying these diseases and potentially identify new therapeutic targets.

This gene encodes a member of the non-histone chromosomal high mobility group protein family. The proteins of this family are chromatin-associated and ubiquitously distributed in the nucleus of higher eukaryotic cells. In vitro studies have demonstrated that this protein is able to efficiently bend DNA and form DNA circles. These studies suggest a role in facilitating cooperative interactions between cis-acting proteins by promoting DNA flexibility. This protein was also reported to be involved in the final ligation step in DNA end-joining processes of DNA double-strand breaks repair and V(D)J recombination.
