The HMBS Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1777) is a versatile tool for researchers studying HMBS, a crucial enzyme involved in heme biosynthesis. This antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the HMBS protein, it enables accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it an essential reagent for investigations in biochemistry and molecular biology.HMBS, also known as hydroxymethylbilane synthase, plays a vital role in the production of heme, an essential component of hemoglobin and other hemoproteins. Dysregulation of HMBS activity can lead to various porphyrias, disorders characterized by abnormal heme synthesis.
Research into the function and regulation of HMBS is critical for understanding the underlying mechanisms of these conditions and developing potential therapeutic interventions.By utilizing the HMBS Polyclonal Antibody (CAB1777), researchers can gain valuable insights into the expression and localization of HMBS in different cellular contexts, advancing our knowledge of heme biosynthesis and its implications for human health. Whether investigating metabolic disorders or exploring the role of heme in cellular processes, this antibody is an indispensable resource for scientists seeking to unravel the complexities of HMBS biology.
Product Name:
HMBS Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Human,Mouse
Immunogen:
Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 1-361 of human HMBS (NP_000181.2).
This gene encodes a member of the hydroxymethylbilane synthase superfamily. The encoded protein is the third enzyme of the heme biosynthetic pathway and catalyzes the head to tail condensation of four porphobilinogen molecules into the linear hydroxymethylbilane. Mutations in this gene are associated with the autosomal dominant disease acute intermittent porphyria. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described.
