The HLA-E Polyclonal Antibody (CAB14206) is a valuable tool for investigating the function of the HLA-E protein in immune regulation. HLA-E is a major histocompatibility complex class I molecule with unique immunoregulatory functions, including the modulation of natural killer (NK) cell activity and antigen presentation to T cells. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific to HLA-E and has been validated for use in various research applications, including Western blotting and immunohistochemistry. By targeting the HLA-E protein, researchers can now detect and analyze its expression in different cell types, shedding light on its role in immune responses and autoimmune diseases.
The importance of HLA-E in immune surveillance and tolerance makes it a promising target for therapeutic interventions in conditions such as cancer, viral infections, and autoimmune disorders. This antibody provides a reliable tool for researchers to explore the function of HLA-E in health and disease, ultimately paving the way for the development of novel treatment strategies.

HLA-E belongs to the HLA class I heavy chain paralogues. This class I molecule is a heterodimer consisting of a heavy chain and a light chain (beta-2 microglobulin). The heavy chain is anchored in the membrane. HLA-E binds a restricted subset of peptides derived from the leader peptides of other class I molecules. The heavy chain is approximately 45 kDa and its gene contains 8 exons. Exon one encodes the leader peptide, exons 2 and 3 encode the alpha1 and alpha2 domains, which both bind the peptide, exon 4 encodes the alpha3 domain, exon 5 encodes the transmembrane region, and exons 6 and 7 encode the cytoplasmic tail.
