The HLA-DQA1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2168) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the HLA-DQA1 gene, which encodes for the alpha chain of the HLA-DQ protein complex. This complex is involved in presenting antigens to T cells, facilitating immune responses and tolerance. The antibody, produced in rabbits, exhibits high specificity and sensitivity for human samples, making it ideal for use in techniques such as Western blotting.HLA-DQA1 is a key player in the adaptive immune response, as it plays a crucial role in presenting antigens to T cells and initiating immune responses. Dysregulation of HLA-DQA1 expression or function has been linked to autoimmune diseases, allergic reactions, and transplant rejection.
Therefore, studying the expression and regulation of HLA-DQA1 could provide insights into these pathological conditions and aid in the development of targeted therapies.By using the HLA-DQA1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2168), researchers can investigate the expression levels and localization of HLA-DQA1 in different cell types and tissues. This information can help unravel the complex mechanisms underlying immune responses and potentially identify novel therapeutic targets for immune-related disorders.

HLA-DQA1 belongs to the HLA class II alpha chain paralogues. The class II molecule is a heterodimer consisting of an alpha (DQA) and a beta chain (DQB), both anchored in the membrane. It plays a central role in the immune system by presenting peptides derived from extracellular proteins. Class II molecules are expressed in antigen presenting cells (APC: B Lymphocytes, dendritic cells, macrophages). The alpha chain is approximately 33-35 kDa. It is encoded by 5 exons; exon 1 encodes the leader peptide, exons 2 and 3 encode the two extracellular domains, and exon 4 encodes the transmembrane domain and the cytoplasmic tail. Within the DQ molecule both the alpha chain and the beta chain contain the polymorphisms specifying the peptide binding specificities, resulting in up to four different molecules. Typing for these polymorphisms is routinely done for bone marrow transplantation.
