The HLA-DPB1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB13312) is a vital tool for researchers studying HLA-DPB1, a gene involved in the immune system's response to foreign substances. This antibody, produced in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blotting techniques. By binding specifically to the HLA-DPB1 protein, it enables accurate detection and analysis in various cell types, making it an excellent choice for studies in immunology and transplantation research.
HLA-DPB1 is a key player in antigen presentation and plays a crucial role in the immune system's ability to distinguish between self and non-self cells. Dysregulation of HLA-DPB1 has been implicated in various diseases, including autoimmune disorders and organ transplant rejection. By understanding its function and expression levels, researchers can gain valuable insights into disease mechanisms and potentially develop novel therapeutic approaches targeting HLA-DPB1.

HLA-DPB belongs to the HLA class II beta chain paralogues. This class II molecule is a heterodimer consisting of an alpha (DPA) and a beta chain (DPB), both anchored in the membrane. It plays a central role in the immune system by presenting peptides derived from extracellular proteins. Class II molecules are expressed in antigen presenting cells (APC: B lymphocytes, dendritic cells, macrophages). The beta chain is approximately 26-28 kDa and its gene contains 6 exons. Exon one encodes the leader peptide, exons 2 and 3 encode the two extracellular domains, exon 4 encodes the transmembrane domain and exon 5 encodes the cytoplasmic tail. Within the DP molecule both the alpha chain and the beta chain contain the polymorphisms specifying the peptide binding specificities, resulting in up to 4 different molecules.
