The Histone H3.3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB10220) is a valuable tool designed for researchers studying histone H3.3, a variant of the histone H3 protein family involved in chromatin remodeling and gene regulation. This antibody, raised in rabbits, exhibits high reactivity with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically targeting the Histone H3.3 protein, this antibody enables precise detection and analysis in various cell types, making it ideal for studies in epigenetics, cancer research, and developmental biology.
Histone H3.3 plays a critical role in epigenetic processes by contributing to the dynamic regulation of gene expression and chromatin structure. Mutations in the H3.3 gene have been associated with various diseases, including cancer and neurological disorders, highlighting the importance of studying its function. Understanding the role of Histone H3.3 in chromatin dynamics and gene regulation is essential for unraveling the complexities of epigenetic mechanisms and their impact on human health.

Histones are basic nuclear proteins that are responsible for the nucleosome structure of the chromosomal fiber in eukaryotes. Two molecules of each of the four core histones (H2A, H2B, H3, and H4) form an octamer, around which approximately 146 bp of DNA is wrapped in repeating units, called nucleosomes. The linker histone, H1, interacts with linker DNA between nucleosomes and functions in the compaction of chromatin into higher order structures. This gene contains introns and its mRNA is polyadenylated, unlike most histone genes. The protein encoded by this gene is a replication-independent histone that is a member of the histone H3 family. Pseudogenes of this gene have been identified on the X chromosome, and on chromosomes 5, 13 and 17.
