The HERC5 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB14889) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the HERC5 protein, which plays a crucial role in the immune response and antiviral defense mechanisms. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly reactive with human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By specifically binding to the HERC5 protein, the antibody allows for the detection and analysis of HERC5 in various cell types, making it an essential component for studies in immunology and virology.HERC5 is known for its involvement in the regulation of the interferon pathway, a key component of the innate immune response against viral infections. Its role in the activation of interferon-stimulated genes (ISGs) highlights its importance in antiviral defense mechanisms and immune surveillance.
Research into HERC5 can provide valuable insights into host-virus interactions, immune system regulation, and potential therapeutic targets for viral diseases. The HERC5 Polyclonal Antibody is a reliable tool for researchers investigating the functions of HERC5 in health and disease, particularly in the context of viral infections and immune responses. By utilizing this antibody, researchers can further our understanding of HERC5's role in immune regulation and potentially uncover new strategies for combating viral infections and enhancing immune responses.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 360-700 of human HERC5 (NP_057407.2).
This gene is a member of the HERC family of ubiquitin ligases and encodes a protein with a HECT domain and five RCC1 repeats. Pro-inflammatory cytokines upregulate expression of this gene in endothelial cells. The protein localizes to the cytoplasm and perinuclear region and functions as an interferon-induced E3 protein ligase that mediates ISGylation of protein targets. The protein also acts as a modulator of the antiviral immune response. The gene lies in a cluster of HERC family genes on chromosome 4.
