The HAX1 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB5551) is a research tool designed for studying the HAX1 protein, a key regulator of apoptosis and immune system function. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By targeting the HAX1 protein, researchers can investigate its role in various cellular processes and its potential implications in diseases such as cancer and autoimmune disorders.HAX1 is known for its diverse functions in cell survival, mitochondrial dynamics, and immune responses.
It has been identified as a critical player in maintaining cellular homeostasis and protecting against cell death. Research on HAX1 has shown its potential as a therapeutic target for modulating immune responses and promoting cell survival in disease settings. By using the HAX1 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can uncover new insights into the function of this important protein and its involvement in various cellular pathways.

The protein encoded by this gene is known to associate with hematopoietic cell-specific Lyn substrate 1, a substrate of Src family tyrosine kinases. It also interacts with the product of the polycystic kidney disease 2 gene, mutations in which are associated with autosomal-dominant polycystic kidney disease, and with the F-actin-binding protein, cortactin. It was earlier thought that this gene product is mainly localized in the mitochondria, however, recent studies indicate it to be localized in the cell body. Mutations in this gene result in autosomal recessive severe congenital neutropenia, also known as Kostmann disease. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
