Description
Anti-TIM-3/HAVCR2 Antibody (CAB2516)
The HAVCR2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2516) is a valuable tool for researchers studying HAVCR2, also known as Tim-3, a cell surface protein involved in immune regulation and tolerance. This antibody is produced in rabbits and is specifically reactive with human samples, making it ideal for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the HAVCR2 protein, researchers can accurately detect and analyze its expression in various cell types, providing insights into its role in immune responses and potential implications in diseases such as cancer, autoimmune disorders, and chronic inflammatory conditions.
The HAVCR2 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2516) is crucial for advancing our understanding of immune regulation and may lead to the development of novel therapies targeting HAVCR2 for the treatment of various immune-related disorders. Its reliable performance and specificity make it a valuable asset for immunology and cancer research studies.

Background: | The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily, and TIM family of proteins. CD4-positive T helper lymphocytes can be divided into types 1 (Th1) and 2 (Th2) on the basis of their cytokine secretion patterns. Th1 cells are involved in cell-mediated immunity to intracellular pathogens and delayed-type hypersensitivity reactions, whereas, Th2 cells are involved in the control of extracellular helminthic infections and the promotion of atopic and allergic diseases. This protein is a Th1-specific cell surface protein that regulates macrophage activation, and inhibits Th1-mediated auto- and alloimmune responses, and promotes immunological tolerance. |
UniProt Protein Function: | TIM-3: Regulates macrophage activation. Inhibits T-helper type 1 lymphocyte (Th1)-mediated auto- and alloimmune responses and promotes immunological tolerance. May be also involved in T-cell homing. Receptor for LGALS9. Belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily. TIM family. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Receptor, misc.; Membrane protein, integral Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 5q33.3 Cellular Component: integral to membrane Disease: Rheumatoid Arthritis |
