The GSTT2B Polyclonal Antibody (CAB15583) is a powerful tool for researchers studying the glutathione S-transferase theta 2B (GSTT2B) enzyme, which is involved in the detoxification of electrophilic compounds. This antibody, produced in rabbits, has high specificity for human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the GSTT2B protein, this antibody allows for accurate detection and analysis in a variety of cell types, making it ideal for studies in toxicology, pharmacology, and cancer research.
GSTT2B is an important enzyme in the glutathione transferase family, playing a crucial role in the metabolism and detoxification of various xenobiotics and carcinogens. Its function in detoxification processes makes it a key target for research aimed at understanding mechanisms of drug metabolism, environmental toxin response, and cancer development. Investigating the expression and activity of GSTT2B can provide valuable insights into potential therapeutic targets for treating conditions related to toxin exposure and carcinogenesis.

Recombinant fusion protein containing a sequence corresponding to amino acids 115-244 of human GSTT2B (NP_001074312.1).
The protein encoded by this gene, glutathione S-transferase (GST) theta 2B (GSTT2B), is a member of a superfamily of proteins that catalyze the conjugation of reduced glutathione to a variety of electrophilic and hydrophobic compounds. Human GSTs can be divided into five main classes: alpha, mu, pi, theta, and zeta. The theta class includes GSTT1, GSTT2, and GSTT2B. GSTT2 and GSTT2B are nearly identical to each other, and share 55% amino acid identity with GSTT1. All three genes may play a role in human carcinogenesis. The GSTT2B gene is a pseudogene in some populations.
