Description
GSTT2 Monoclonal Antibody [PAT10H4AT] (CPAB0218)
The GSTT2 Polyclonal Antibody (CPAB0218) is a powerful tool for research involving the GSTT2 enzyme, an important player in drug metabolism and detoxification processes in the body. This antibody, raised in rabbits, is highly specific to human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the GSTT2 protein, this antibody enables accurate detection and analysis in various cell types, making it an invaluable asset for studies in pharmacology, toxicology, and personalized medicine.GSTT2, a member of the glutathione S-transferase family, is involved in the conjugation of glutathione to a wide range of xenobiotics, drugs, and carcinogens, aiding in their elimination from the body.
Understanding the expression and function of GSTT2 is essential for predicting individual responses to medications and environmental toxins, as well as for developing strategies to enhance detoxification processes in patients with impaired enzyme activity. Research on GSTT2 may also provide insights into the mechanisms of drug resistance and susceptibility to chemical-induced toxicity, offering new avenues for therapeutic interventions and precision medicine approaches.

Background: | GSTT2 belongs to the glutathione s-transferase (GST) family of proteins. There are eight GST proteins families, named alpha, kappa, mu, omega, pi, sigma, theta and zeta. Each one of the GST families has several proteins with different functions throughout the cell. The theta type members GSTT1 and GSTT2 have a 55% aa sequence homology and hold a vital role in human carcinogenesis. The theta genes are structurally similar €“ each has five exons with identical exon/intron boundaries. |
