The GRP Polyclonal Antibody (CAB6380) provided by Assay Genie is a valuable tool for researchers studying Gastrin-Releasing Peptide (GRP), a neuropeptide involved in a variety of physiological processes. This antibody, produced in rabbits, is highly specific for detecting GRP in human samples and has been validated for use in Western blot applications.GRP is known to play a role in the regulation of gastrointestinal function, as well as in the stimulation of growth in certain types of cancer cells. By targeting GRP with this antibody, researchers can gain valuable insights into the function and regulation of this neuropeptide in various cell types.
This makes the CAB6380 antibody an essential tool for investigations in the fields of neuroscience, endocrinology, and cancer biology.Understanding the role of GRP in disease states such as cancer and gastrointestinal disorders is essential for the development of targeted therapies. With the use of the GRP Polyclonal Antibody from Assay Genie, researchers can further explore the mechanisms of action of GRP and its potential as a therapeutic target in various pathological conditions.

This gene encodes a member of the bombesin-like family of gastrin-releasing peptides. The encoded preproprotein is proteolytically processed to generate two peptides, gastrin-releasing peptide and neuromedin-C. These peptides regulate numerous functions of the gastrointestinal and central nervous systems, including release of gastrointestinal hormones, smooth muscle cell contraction, and epithelial cell proliferation. These peptides are also likely to play a role in human cancers of the lung, colon, stomach, pancreas, breast, and prostate. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants, at least one of which encodes a preproprotein that is proteolytically processed.
