The GRM3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2538) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the metabotropic glutamate receptor 3 (GRM3). This antibody, produced in rabbits, demonstrates high reactivity with human samples and is validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to the GRM3 protein, this antibody allows for the detection and analysis of GRM3 in various cell types, making it an ideal choice for research in neuroscience and psychiatric disorders. GRM3 is a neurotransmitter receptor that plays a key role in regulating synaptic transmission and plasticity in the brain.
Dysregulation of GRM3 function has been implicated in various neurological and psychiatric disorders such as schizophrenia, depression, and addiction. Understanding the function and regulation of GRM3 is essential for the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting these conditions.By utilizing the GRM3 Polyclonal Antibody (CAB2538), researchers can gain valuable insights into the role of GRM3 in health and disease, advancing our understanding of brain function and potentially leading to the development of new treatments for neurological and psychiatric disorders.

L-glutamate is the major excitatory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system and activates both ionotropic and metabotropic glutamate receptors. Glutamatergic neurotransmission is involved in most aspects of normal brain function and can be perturbed in many neuropathologic conditions. The metabotropic glutamate receptors are a family of G protein-coupled receptors, that have been divided into 3 groups on the basis of sequence homology, putative signal transduction mechanisms, and pharmacologic properties. Group I includes GRM1 and GRM5 and these receptors have been shown to activate phospholipase C. Group II includes GRM2 and GRM3 while Group III includes GRM4, GRM6, GRM7 and GRM8. Group II and III receptors are linked to the inhibition of the cyclic AMP cascade but differ in their agonist selectivities.
